Virtual Training
During this 1.25 hour of virtual IAACW training you’ll be guided through the building blocks needed for a child to encapsulate and write their own simple sentence. Once simple sentence writing is secured, we will navigate you through Year 1 and focus on skill selection, genre choice and text stimulus.
After the training, you’ll receive the IAACW in Year 1 Skills Ladder which will provide you with a systematic progression of the intricate Year 1 writing skills.

Looking to secure firm foundations for your Year 2 writers?
Building on the Year 1 Firm Foundations course, this training will guide you through the process of teaching writing in Year 2. All key aspects of the IAACW structure will be covered: Transcription skills, book selection, wagoll writing, skill build-up and genre choice.
During the training, we will provide delegates with countless tips and teaching points to ensure firm foundations in writing for all pupils.
After the training, schools will receive the IAACW in Year 2 Skills Ladder which will provide you with a systematic progression of the intricate Year 2 writing skills.
